Poker App

Client/ Entain

Role/ UX, UI & Product Design

Channels/ Native App

Challenge/ Entain wanted to update their partypoker app to make it more modern and bring in some new features

Solution/ "Poker App" - A cleaner, slicker more modern app

Landing Lobby

The landing lobby felt very cluttered & overwhelming before (left)

Users had complained they had struggled to find their inbox, registered tournaments & balance so we wanted to bring these upfront.

The client wanted to facilitate seamless navigation between products (Poker, Casino, and Sports) while also promoting deposits and offers. This was efficiently addressed by incorporating a footer that included these key elements.

Banners and tile assets were to be provided by the marketing team at a later stage.

Additional Pages

A selection of the additional designs. The client requested that we highlight the cashier and promote cross-selling to the Casino and Sports products within the open hamburger menu (right).

Header

The header adapted to show different states based on the user's progress within the app.

Previously, when users opened the app for the first time, they were immediately met with a registration page, with no opportunity to explore what the app had to offer.

To address this, we introduced a "shop window" where users could browse the app before committing to registration (left). On this screen, two large buttons encouraged users to either register or log in. Additionally, if users attempted to interact with the app, they were prompted to register or log in first.

Once logged in these buttons are replaced with buttons for inbox, my tourneys & balance (middle)

The client insisted on a persistent header throughout the lobby. This was so partypoker could display the mini-tables (right). The mini-tables are a small representation of any game you are currently playing allowing you to easily jump back into any game. They replace the partypoker logo when games are inplay.

Version 2.0

Due to dev capacity we descoped some of the ideas for initial launch. These features will be built for v 2.0.

Below are Initial wireframes & preliminary/rough designs for a few of the descoped items.

Initially we planned to have a scrollable lobby showcasing not only the game tiles, but rewards, cash-back, relevant blog posts, offers & more (left & middle)

The original plan was for the lobby to be scrollable, displaying not only the game tiles but also rewards, cash-back offers, relevant blog posts, promotions, and more (as shown in the wireframe on the left and the rough design in the middle).

To enhance the personal experience, we suggested that users be given the option to choose their own avatar (top right).

Additionally, a faster and more intuitive way to access the balance panel was proposed, with a new design and tabbed interface that would allow the panel to open directly over the main lobby (bottom right)

Other Brands

Partypoker was so impressed with the new designs that other Entain brands requested us to roll them out as well. These brands included Coral, Ladbrokes, BetMGM, Borgata, and Bwin.
