Challenge: Persil wanted to create a piece of shareable content that their users could engage with & enjoy as a thank you gift to their customers.
Solution: "Persil Storybook" - A children's digital storybook that could be personalised with an illustrated character & the child's name.
The initial brief was to create four different stories, however, this campaign was so successful that Asda commissioned an exclusive fifth story.
Personalisation
On their first visit, the user could create a personalised character that would appear in illustrations throughout the story. They could then pick which of the five stories to read first.
Story
The storybook was developed as a web app with a tablet-first design approach. Unfortunately, the budget didn’t allow for a fully responsive web app, but we did create separate mobile designs to ensure a good user experience on smaller devices.
Due to budget constraints, we could only commision a limited number of illustrations - meaning I had to get creative. I used interesting fonts & elements from the illustrations to make every page visually engaging & dynamic.
Customers were emailed about the book inviting them to create a personalised story with their child.
